International Visitors
Visas and embassies

If you are participating in the World Human Resources Congress, you may need a Temporary Resident Visa to visit Canada.

To issue a temporary visa, Immigration Canada requires you to satisfy certain conditions and provide certain documents. You will find all the information you need and the steps to take to apply for your visa on the following website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp.

The following documents are required for a Temporary Resident Visa. The official forms are available on the above-mentioned website:

  • a duly completed Application for a Temporary Resident Visa (IMM 5257)
  • a valid passport (there must be one completely blank page, other than the last page, available in each passport)
  • a photocopy of your valid return ticket
  • two photos meeting the specified requirements
  • a photocopy of your current immigration document, if applicable (e.g. work permit, temporary resident permit)
  • Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union (IMM 5409) (if applicable)
  • any additional documents required by the responsible visa office
  • the Use of a Representative form (IMM 5476), if applicable
  • fee payment in an acceptable format. Verify acceptable methods of payment with the Visa office responsible for your area

We suggest you apply for your visa as soon as possible. Immigration Canada recommends you apply at least one month before your expected departure date. However, if you mail your application, you should allow up to eight weeks for your visa to arrive since the postal service can vary from country to country.
