Prior to her appointment in Feburary 2010 to IOC (Iron Ore Company of Canada), Canada's largest iron ore producer, Zoë Yujnovich was President of Rio Tinto Brasil.

Prior to that, she provided advisory support to the Chief Executive of Rio Tinto in London. The activities of this role spanned the acquisition of Alcan, hostile defence against BHP along with a strong focus on operational delivery of the business.

Ms Yujnovich has been with the Rio Tinto group since 1996, beginning her career as Process & Development Engineer at Comalco Smelting in Tasmania, Australia. Then she moved on to become Plant Operations Manager for Pilbara Iron in Australia, where she led employees and contractors across 3 satellite mines which processed 22 Mt of saleable ore product. Her team achieved zero injuries while realising above plan production and below plan costs.

Ms Yujnovich holds an Executive MBA from the University of Utah and a BEng (Hons) Materials Engineering, from the University of Western Australia.
