The Laurentian Mountains
The Laurentians, one of the oldest mountain chains in the world, start just 20 miles north of Montreal. This picturesque region of mountains, lakes and rivers is a playground for Montrealers, a place where visitors can fish, ski and golf while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The region has been developed to preserve its natural setting, vast forests, picturesque villages, cozy valleys, and crystal-clear lakes. A nice day in Quebec City
Classified as an international heritage site in 1985 by UNESCO, the city of Quebec City, capital of the Province of Quebec, is the only remaining entirely fortified city in North America. Founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain, Quebec City was the first permanent European settlement in New France. A natural citadel, the site dominates the St. Lawrence River. Renowned for its European flavour, the city has a rich architectural heritage. During the tour you will see the Plains of Abraham, Notre-Dame Church, Place Royale, the National Assembly, the Citadelle and the famous Château Frontenac.
