About the World HR Congress

The WFPMA holds a World HR Congress every two years. Its aim is to enable HR professionals to build a global community of peers, to discuss new developments and to network with colleagues from around the world who face similar complex challenges in people management and development.

Reflecting its international origins and concerns, the event 'moves' around the world. The World Congress has been held since 1986 in the following cities:

The North American Human Resources Management Association (HAHRMA) is proud to be hosting the WFPMA World Congress in 2010.The event is organized by l’Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés.


About the World Federation of People Management Associations

The WFPMA is a global network of professionals in people management. It was founded in 1976 to aid the development and improve the effectiveness of professional people management all over the world. WFPMA members predominantly consist of more than 70 national personnel associations representing over 400,000 people management professionals. The WFPMA holds the biennial World HR Congress to enable HR professionals to build a global community of peers, share experiences and discuss new developments. This is the 13th World HR Congress and the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés is delighted to be the host for 2010.


About the CCHRA

Established in 1994, the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA) is a collaborative effort of human resources associations from across Canada, which represent more than 39,000 professionals, 19,000 of whom hold the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. The CCHRA is the national voice on the enhancement and promotion of the profession across Canada, through established and credible designations, collaborating on national issues related to the profession, leading federal government relations, and proactively positioning the national human resources agenda at the international level.


About the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés

The Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés is the primary reference organization in its field in Quebec. It has a membership of more than 10 000 professionals, candidates and students, including 5,600 CHRPs and 2,400 CIRCs. It is the only organization devoted to the protection of the public authorized by the Professional Code to confer these professional designations.

Active in all sectors, CHRPs and CIRCS contribute to the development and maintenance of a healthy working atmosphere and a safe, efficient organizational environment that respects the uniqueness of each and every employee. They also represent employers and employees in various areas of HR management, from industrial relations, to staffing, training, occupational health and safety, organizational development and compensation.
